Beware of divers and false Doctrine.
A program on PBS aired last night Nov. 11th at 11:00 PM EST, whereupon a Mr. Benjamin Creme explained to all of us how Jesus Christ has indeed returned in the Flesh as a man named Maitreya. He further stated that the Christ was not really Divine, but that the Christ was a positive attribute of God, that we are all son's of God who haven't yet awakened to our enlightened state.
With smatterings of Buddhist, Hindu, and Taoism mixed in with New Age Philosophy, the story of Maitreya is the same as with all other Eastern Hindu Gurus who preach that all power to be as God is solely within our reach as we grasp to understand the cosmic universe and its laws of cause and effect and work harmoniously within the cosmic framework to have wrought miraculous good upon miraculous good.
Beware of these false doctrines which teach of risen masters, and self glorification. Jesus Christ is not a Buddhist Monk or a Hindu Master!! Jesus Christ is God!!! Jesus Christ is a member of the Trinitarian God-Head Who with One Word created ALL THAT IS, BOTH INVISIBLE AND VISIBLE. Maitreya, the imposter, and others like him are posing as Christ while they are, at the same time, giving themselves away for the fakes that they are. You have to know Holy Scripture well enough in order to know why and how to recognize a fake.
In the Creed, we are reminded that we:
1. Acknowledge One Baptism for the Remission of Sins
2. Await the Resurrection of the Dead (at the Second Coming)
3. and await the Life of the Ages to come.
Before that, we study in the creed that:
1. There is One God, Father Almighty.
2. God is the Maker of the Heavens and the Earth, and of everything visible and invisible.
3. There is One Lord Jesus Christ, Begotten, not Made, Co-substantial with the Father through Whom all things were Made.
4. Begotten of the Father before all Ages.
5. Jesus Christ is Light of Light.
6. Jesus Christ is True God of True God.
7. Jesus Christ for us and for our Salvation came down from Heaven.
8. Jesus Christ, incarnated by the Holy Spirit and of the Virgin Mary became man.
9. Crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, He suffered and was buried.
10. On the third day He arose from the dead.
11. Jesus Christ sat at the right hand of the Father.
12. Jesus Christ shall come again in glory to judge both the living and the dead, Whose Kingdom shall have no end.
13. There is the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, Who proceeds from the Father, and together with the Father and the Son is Worshipped and Glorified, Who spoke though the Prophets.
14. There is one, holy, universal, and apostolic church.
Remember however how the Scriptures warn us of the Antichrist: that he will deceive many to think that he does only good and that he is capable of many miracles. Beware though because a wolf behind sheep's clothing is waiting at the door to rend you and throw you into the pit where there is great weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Below is a paper which was written some two years ago, and which I dismissed because I had no experience with the claims of this man. Now, after having seen the claims first hand, I think it appropriate to warn people against succombing to the charm of being lulled into vainglory and ecstacy thinking that we are greater than God Himself. We are nothing without God, and We must NEVER FORGET THAT!! Further, we must remember that no man can claim to be Jesus Christ, for Jesus will return in similar manner to the way He departed, and at His Coming the Resurrection of the Dead will take place.

WHERE HAVE YOU GONE, "LORD" MAITREYA?
by Albert James Dager
Last year, April 25, the world was stunned by the announcement in some twenty major newspapers that "The Christ is Now Here." Large ads, placed by an occultic New Age organization called Tara Center, generated tremendous apprehension--even fear--in the hearts of many. Its promise that this "christ" for our age--"Lord Maitreya" (pronounced MY-TRAY-UH)--would appear within two months to guide mankind into a new era of peace, prosperity, and brotherhood. It had the earmarks of biblical prophecy regarding the anti-Christ.
Our subsequent rebuttal in concert with Church by the Sea (Huntington Beach, CA) appeared in the LOS ANGELES TIMES the following week, May 2, scripturally defining the only true Christ--Jesus--and His Second Coming. In our full-page ad we pointed out that anyone else who would pretend to christhood is at least one among many anti-Christs, if not THE anti- Christ. Our ad, also, generated pockets of interest worldwide and opened the door for no small amount of evangelism.
Since that time, with the failure of Maitreya to appear as predicted, many have been asking what has become of him and his followers. Our most recent issue of MEDIA SPOTLIGHT includes an update to our orininal, 14,000-word special report on Maitreya, his chief apostle Benjamin Creme (KREHM), and the Tara Centers.
In our further investigations we found that discouragement has taken a considerable toll among the ranks of Maitreya's disciples. Many financial supporters of the Tara Center have withdrawn their backing. In addition, the centers have had to close their New York office while consolidating their two Los Angeles offices into one. Their five paid staff members have had to seek other employment. In short, the controversy has subsided considerably, and the efforts of Maitreya's followers to aid in his appearance seemingly have come to a dead end.
But in spite of the gloomy outlook from their point of view, there is still much optimism among the ranks of "the faithful in Maitreya." And lest Christians think the whole incident laughable, we should remember that the Tara Center is only one of a network of over 10,000 New Age organizations still working for the establishment of a one-world government under the spiritual direction of certain "Ascended Masters"--men who have supposedly advanced up the evolutionary scale to a higher spiritual plane.
For those who may have never heard of these developments, or who would like to learn more, we offer our original sixteen (16) page report, IS ANTI-CHRIST HERE? A BIBLICAL LOOK AT BENJAMIN CREME'S "LORD MAITREYA." An update, "Where Have You Gone 'Lord' Maitreya?" was published in conjunction with a review of the movie, E.T. in the latest issue of MEDIA SPOT-LIGHT. Included with a 14,000-word report are copies of the Tara Center ad and a rebuttal.
A few copies of both publications are still available from:
